Read diacritics characters from file

  • Subject: Read diacritics characters from file

<email@hidden>I have an input file (.txt format created from vi editor) with one word in each line

 "Choose an input file :"
)
number
 numLines
--Handle each word in each line
 repeat

The problem lies in the line "--Handle each word in each line"
I am able to handle words with regular alpha-numeric characters. But words with special characters like "congé", "mêlée", "coup d'état", "tête-â-téte" are not read properly. Its functioning in-appropriately. Can some one tell me how to read the txt file so that I can handle words with diacritics also?

--Satyam.
