My [prepress] company's policy is to not upgrade until we get a job in the
door that requires it. We stay on the "bleating edge"--we don't push ahead,
we follow like sheep. :-)
I myself choose to drag my feet at times, like with Microsoft Excel [whose
terminology was scrapped and rewritten between versions X and 2004]. All new
projects use Excel 2008, of course, and most old ones have been converted.
But we still have a few complicated scripts using Excel X that we haven't
yet gotten around to rewriting. In these cases it's the time cost, not the
upgrade cost, that's holding us back.
