In case you wonder no one answered: I couldn't see an obvious hint
where to look into your lengthy script. Even not the "beep" you

Thanks, also for prompting me to have another look/take another stab
at this mystery script. It's not exactly mine, and I never would
have put all that color-list property stuff in anything I did. (I
wouldn't know how, for one thing.) I commented some of the
apparently inessential parts out earlier, and the script still
didn't work in the same way. I'll now try removing them completely,
will see if the stripped-down version works for the other guy but
not for me, and then may perhaps post it again here. I suppose the
general question in the meantime is whether a script (specifically
an InDesign AppleScript here) will work on one system but not on
another for no detectable reason. I really couldn't see one here at
all, anyway, but maybe I'll eventually come up with something.
Catch the error of the try block within the tell InDesign block.
The try block is royally long and you ignore any errors, so you will
not know what went wrong.
