Don't tell the finder to do it. And your cp command is missing a space
on open theFile set theFile to POSIX path of theFile do shell script "chmod 333" & " " & quoted form of theFile with administrator privileges do shell script "cp" & " " & quoted form of theFile & space & "/usr/local/bin" with administrator privileges return it
end open
