Yes, you can create a launchagent that is set to 'keep running' although I think there is a way to set an applescript to stay open. Of course, you will need to make sure you have the right handlers for that.


I see a plist option for application is agent but that doesn't seem to make
any difference.

I believe that setting only controls whether or not the app has a dock icon, and perhaps if it interacts directly with the UI.
