Are there any tools that will automatically convert straight quotes to smart quotes?

I'm using inDesign now and it's handling of quotes is causing problems. If I pass text to the application with left or right quotes, it converts them to smart quotes, which is not what I want. I want it to leave the left and right quotes alone and only convert straight quotes.

Any suggestions?

I assumes that the first thing to do is to disable the smart quote feature before passing your text.

Given that, your left and right quotes will remain as is.

Then you will be able to use Find/Replace to treat the remaining straight quotes.
