Well I for one am broken hearted.
If you consider that AppleScript was designed as a tool for interapplication
scripting, as opposed to a stand alone programming language, a powerful,
easy to use, flexible and stable user interface design tool is vital.
In Mac OS 7-9/Classic we had HyperCard. In OS X we had nothing until FS5b.
FaceSpan 5b was easier to use than AppleScript studio or any of the
alternatives, and was incredibly flexible. Plus it worked very well with or
without ScriptDebugger.
I've used for everything from simply adding a fourth button and a second
field to a dialog, to using it as a front end to a complex FileMaker
database, and some of the other beta testers went far beyond what I could
manage.
Mark and Matt put a lot of hours and a lot of good brainpower into getting
it as far as they did. (I thought it was pretty close to release).
I'm sorry to see it go.
