Oh it all helps, Stan :-)

One of my issues is that I'm not sure how best to get the path to
InDesign. Normally you could do something like:

tell application "Finder" to get application file id
"com.adobe.InDesign" as string

But on systems which have, say, both CS2 and CS3 installed, how do I
identify each when they both have the same bundle identifier? (the
above line would return the path to the latter version)

Maybe I'm just going to have to use some brute-force method...
