Okay, but you still have to ask yourself why, in that case, there are other
users who have never seen the problems you describe.

Just a wild idea: in testing, make sure that you have no (that's NO)
scripting additions in either ~/Library/ScriptingAdditions or
/Library/ScriptingAdditions. Just take them all out of there and restart the
computer and test again. You can always put them back when you've finished
your tests.

I have a theory that this problem is caused either by the presence of the
32-bit Adobe Unit Types osax or by scripting additions being used for code
injection (the new vector for "haxies", as with Default Folder X and
iPassword). My theory could be wrong, of course, but it looks right in my
information sample so far, so pls try it and let the list know what happens.
