I disagree with your assertion, if you receive windows word files that have the default macro enabled they can easily
infect a mac, this is well documented.


As far as applications, since leopard apple allows authors to digitally sign their applications to ensure no one tampers with them
prior to installation, for instance all iPhone applications MUST be signed prior to acceptance in the app store.


My point here is be careful with tools that allow for automatic execution of code without user transparency its always a potential
for bad things.
