Hi Matt,

I do not find the StandardAdditions in the ScriptingAdditions folder.

Hello Michael,

Which ScriptingAdditions folder?
Since it is installed with the OS, StandardAdditions.osax should be in:
	/System/Library/ScriptingAdditions

So, for example, the following script (copied from the release note) does not work:

set theBootVolume to path to startup disk
tell application "Finder"

end tell

It returns -- error "startup disk doesn’t understand the path to message." number -1708 from startup disk

Where do I get the StandardAdditions.osax, which version do I need?

Well, here comes the frightening part...
Either there's a permission problem, which may reveal a minor or a major problem.
Or it has somehow vanished, and one can't exclude other such disappearances...

Do you remember to have tried some AppleScript commands with "administrator privileges" or shell commands preceded by "sudo"?
Or to have encountered disk errors?
Or to have to force reboot your box?

Axel
