Have you tried Edit -> Substitutions and turn off Text Replacement?
Or gone
into the Language & Text panel in System Preferences and turned off
spelling
checking there, to cover all apps?

I hadn't noticed the Language and Text panel in System Preferences. It
doesn't appear to have a checkbox there for auto correcting.
I seem to have gone a little over the top with my complaints. It's
nothing I can't deal with in some one way or the other. It's just that
when I get into a creative flow, any little mistake I can't
immediately address sometime makes the dream go away. Things like this
are almost always my own fault. Maybe one of the suggestions offered
will do the trick. Thanks for the offerings.
I'm beginning to pick up a little here and there with AppleScript. Is
there a problem with asking which parts of some of the scripts that
show up here have to be changed for them to work on my machine? I
don't have any applications that doesn't come with the Operating
System, so it shouldn't be that often that I inquire.
