For example, on my machine the “Funk” beep plays fully, but “Hero”
is long enough that the second beep may not finish. To ensure that
the sound plays fully, add a “delay 1” (or however long the beep is)
after the beep command to ensure it is allowed to completely play
before the process ends. You can do this immediately after the beep,
or you can define a “quit” handler that always delays before quitting:
I tried putting a delay 1 after beep and it works. I now get a
complete sound.
But, there may still a problem, perhaps a bug. I use 'glass' for my
alert sound and 'delay 1' is adequate for the sound to complete on my
Mac. But, if you are using my software and have selected 'Hero' for
your alert sound, you may not get a complete sound. If I use 'delay 2'
after 'beep', I may be wasting a second of your time.
If one of my users is silly enough to use Beethoven's Fifth Symphony
as an alert sound, it should still play completely.
