The Adobe Type Units scripting addition is installed in the folder /

There are 2 files installed here on my machine. One looks like an
old resource based scripting addition and the other is a folder/
bundle with no icon.
I can pretty much guarantee, even without knowing about this start
of this thread, that this osax is NOT 64 bit.
But the real question is, what does it do? It's been installed by the
Creative Suite forever, without the slightest indication or hint (that
I can find) whether it is needed or why. It has no dictionary, so it
obviously isn't useful for any public scripting purpose and therefore
should not be in the ScriptingAdditions folder. Given the number of
mysterious files that Adobe installs all over my computer (including
the Shared folder <swear words deleted reluctantly>), I suspect that
no harm will come from simply trashing it -- but I don't dare try that.
