OK, I choose a bad example. My problem is refering to *any* file or  
folder and I need to specify it with a posix path. So to test it on  
your system try this

set AS_path to POSIX file "/.DS_Store"

or any valid file on your system.

Do you mind me asking why you want to refer to any file using POSIX ? I’d be curious if you told me about the whole point of your script.
