The commands
set visible of column ...
used to require that the window be open. In Leopard this was no longer the case and you could set the visible/invisible of columns on a closed folder window. In Snow Leopard they simply don't work anymore. This really, really needs to be fixed soon!
Then there's
set the toolbar visible of wdw to visibleStatus
This still requires that the folder window be opened. Really looks awful and eats processing time. I bug reported this today id # 7216926.
