AppleScript formatting preferences

Mac OS X 10.6.1

I use both AppleScript Editor and Xcode for scripting. Somehow, my AppleScript formatting preferences are not being retained.

A few days ago I spent some time to set things up for fonts and colors and then yesterday, when I opened a script in AppleScript Editor, the ugly default settings were once again in effect. So I reset all the values but today, they are all lost again.

Anyone else experiencing this problem?
