Here on this old Macintosh box I can select all of the files in a Finder window and do a COMMAND-C copy.

After that I can go to a text editor (MPW for me) and paste.

The result looks, sorted as per the Finder choices, like this:

Alternator_Test_Panel.pdf 1
AlternatorTestSwitching.xls
catcher_100406-bkwd.tsv
catcher_100406-fwd.tsv
catcher_1926.xls
CurrentSource.xls
FRIWO_15VDC_switcher.pdf
alternator.txt
catcher_100406.xls
AlternatorBackup
Waveforms_100406.pdf

Can't that be scripted? It might even be recordable.
