Accessing Stickies' data

Dear AppleScripters,

Hello.  I wonder if it's possible to use AppleScript to access Stickies' data.  All I want is the number of records, actually.  I have never used Database Events, but I thought that's what I needed to use.  Nonetheless, it doesn't work.

set myFile to "HD:JThompson:Library:StickiesDatabase"
tell application "Database Events"
open database myFile
end tell

And I get an error.  So is there any way to access this database file and get the number of records in it?

Thanks a lot.

Jim Thompson
