Hi,
What I got is trouble when I boot on a Leopard hard disk (the spotlight
start to index the hard disks), then once I reboot to a Snow Leopard
hard disk the spotlight start to index the same hard disks (both have to
be online).

I have a script which removes the current Spotlight index file and starts a new indexing on a sparsebundle disk. There is no problem with the script, but there seems to be a problem with Spotlight.
Last week, I watched an indexing stop at about 35% completion and stay there for about half an hour.
(I fixed the problem, tried again and got a complete indexing.)
Saturday evening, while indexing a sparsebundle disk, indexing stopped and I got the "rainbow wheel of death" every time I moved the mouse over the Spotlight window. (I restarted, then again fixed the problem.)
The fix for the problem is to remove an unnecessary file from the disk to allow more room to create the index file.
The problem with Spotlight seems to be that it expects that space for the ".Spotlight-V100" folder to always exists and when it doesn't it goes into never-never land without reporting a problem.
Has anyone had a similar experience with Spotlight?
