System 7 didn't I think. Or maybe it was the file system before HFS+
This 32 bit thing was also a problem when saving out of the QuickTime player. When I ran my server in 1999, I remmeber having this problem.
OR was this for xplat compatibility with windows systems that didn't support filenames of that length?
