What OS and version of SD are you using?
Open your script in SD.
Switch the mode to debugger. Save the script, and link the folder to it.
When the script runs it should open in Script debugger and your breakpoints
should work. If not, then make sure you have the most recent version of SD
running. You may also try saving the script as an application.
