That does work — for me, at any rate. A 'trigger date' is the absolute
date set when you choose the 'on date' option when setting an alarm. If
you choose a time relative to the event's start date, you have to look
at the alarm's 'trigger interval'.

The infuriating thing about a display alarm is that it does display
details of the event which triggered it; but this doesn't seem to be
readable with GUI Scripting.
