The Apache-Apple Event Bridge 1.4 (binary data and a new connection mechanism)

  • Subject: The Apache-Apple Event Bridge 1.4 (binary data and a new connection mechanism)

Version 1.4 is available along with a new video demo -- even simpler!

	http://aaeb.net/

New in 1.4 is support for the return of binary data (see the new demo AppleScript: AAEB_ReturnJPEG). 1.4 also enables you to call your AppleScripts with a different form of URL, that also removes the need for the extra text file. URLs can now take the form of:

	YourServer.com/cgi-bin/connect.aaeb?appName=YourAppleScript.app&arg1=1&arg2=4

This will permit a user to feed your web server the name of a script to run via web arguments, so you may choose not to use this form and remove the connect.aaeb file from your CGI-BIN folder. Based on user feedback, this means you only need to have a single text file to activate any compiled AppleScripts in the same folder.

Thanks,

David Dantowitz
