A simple "save" gets me a reference movie, not a self contained movie and I can't "save self contained...replacing yes" Compile fails.

Hello Steve,

This looked somewhat frightening, as that -36 error number is the generic ioErr error condition, which is kind of a catch-all, including for true IO problems.

But after some trials here, it appears that it just means "I can't replace the file, because I'm using it". In fact, QTP 7 chokes the same way when trying to save as selfcontained and clicking on the "replace" button when asked in the GUI; it isn't thus surprising that the "save self contained" command doesn't come with a "replacing" parameter.

As a result, I guess you would need to rename (or move somewhere else) the ith original movie file, perform the "save self contained" command, then delete the renamed (or moved) original movie file.

HTH,
Axel
