Hello,
I'd like to venture my explanation! 'Mail pdf' from the print menu (for example in Keynote) results in having the generated pdf file attached, but the document displays as a black bar in the email body. Having read reports from other members, I'd like to suggest that Safari 5 might have broken/flunked something that prevents pdf's to flow nicely system-wide, between applications and be displayed.
