Hello Jeff,

The nearest I could do is:

	do shell script "defaults read ~/Library/Preferences/com.apple.VoiceOver3/default SCREnableAppleScript"

Should return "1" (resp. "0") if VO is enabled (resp. disabled) for AppleScript.

I really don't know why that info is stored in such a strange file (unless, of course, I missed something). Looks like to be an unfinished thing, liable to be changed in a subsequent OS release (I'm still with 10.6.3 here).

BTW, it could be worth as a feature request to have VoiceOver Utility to be scriptable.
