What context is the script running in?  Is it executing from within EyeTV, maybe from a script menu? And how is the handler being called.

If the script's parent is eyeTV, that's part of the answer.

Also, I'm not sure of the value of using a script object in this case.  I'd just use a record, but to each his own.
