And once a file has been added by an external process to a volume that iPhoto has mounted as a device, how can I refresh the view so that iPhoto notices the addition?

OK, I give up.  How do I export a photo to a file from Applescript?  There's no "export" command, photos don't understand "save"..  I can copy the raw file directly (image path of properties of somePhoto gets me the filename), but I was kinda hoping iPhoto had a supported API for it?
