Three ways to express your gratitude, IMHO:

--A thank you on the list mentioning those who helped solve the problem is appropriate

--A snippet containing the solution can be helpful for those searching the archives in the future

--As you develop your skills, when you see a thread where you can make a useful contribution, contribute
