hmm, indeed now that you mention. I guess it has everything to do with the number formats in the International prefs pane. Well, I can't change that to something else than that I've got now, since other applications would start to misbehave. So I will script my way around it.

I would hazard a guess that this has to do with how the string is interpreted because the original poster is from the Netherlands (at least his TLD indicates so) and so probably has the locale set for there. He could try using "0,25" --Bob
