Speaking of date arithmetic...

  • Subject: Speaking of date arithmetic...

Did you know you could subtract days of the week from each other?  Or add them together?  Don't know what good the latter will do, though.

(Wednesday) - Tuesday
--> 1

(Wednesday) - Thursday
--> -1

(Wednesday) + Thursday
--> 9

The first day must be in parentheses.  You can also add or subtract reals from them, but the result is a number, not a day of the week.

You can even multiply, but not divide, them by each other or by a real.  Can't raise them to a power, either.

We're surrounded. That simplifies the problem.
