I wonder if some Wizard could get into "com.apple.helpviewer.plist" and create a new line that would address this "Feature"?

Correct, since it's buried in CoreServices. There was another annoying change: Now there is no way anymore to allow to
push the Help window into the background, as was possible in 10.5. Or does
anybody know one?
There isn't. In SL, the window's always on top. The engineers apparently got tired of complaints that people were leaving the app running and losing sight of the window. Thus, they want it closed after using. _______________________________________________
