Well I created a system based on folder actions that would attach keep windows cascaded and that worked, slow but
ok. The events I'm really having trouble with, which I suspect is the source of your problem as well is the slow priority
on the watchpath's property in the launchd items system - at least for user processes.
I suspect that is the root source of your problem. As the folder actions are driven from here as well.
