TreeView X and dnd Files

  • Subject: TreeView X and dnd Files

I have a friend who works in a genetics related field.

(It is not my field)

In that field, there is a format for describing phylogenetic information in a tree view. The files commonly have the .dnd file extension.

See:

http://darwin.zoology.gla.ac.uk/~rpage/treeviewx/

He needs to process thousand of these files, generating PDF documents or other graphic file types, and hopes to automate the process.

Finally, the issue: so far he has found no scriptable apps that deal with this format.

His request:

=========
I want to use the tree app to generate rectangular phlyograms from the thousands of .dnd files I have. They need to be saved/exported in a graphic format viewable in a FMP webviewer on IWP. A scaleable format, such as PDF, is preferable (I will also give users an option to view these in their browser where they can re-size the window), but not essential.

If useful, I can provide you with some sample .dnd files.

Thank, Fred
