What's the technical reason?

I'd knew someone would ask (grin).

My client has several scripts running (at times) simultaneously. Each (at times) sets one of up to four printers as the default printer using Printer Setup Utility. There sometimes is a problem with the wrong job going to a printer. I believe it might be a synchronising problem, where one script sets the default printer and before it gets to print, another script running at the same time resets the default.

I'm not entirely sure of it, but am trying to print using a one liner statement. Unfortunately nether Graphic Converter nor Excel will utilise any form of code I use to set the printer. Might be an Apple bug.

I thought also that only one script could run at a time, but it seems not from experience.

And what, you ask, was the beginning of it all?
And it is this......
Existence that multiplied itself
For sheer delight of being
And plunged with numberless trillions of forms
So that it might
find
itself
innumerably
