OK, many thanks for everyone's advices!

It was my first notice about the "&&" stuff, I'll adopt it now in place of
";" in all my scripts ;-)

About the starting path of a running script, I allways believed it was
current user's home (~), but I never tried in different
machines/environments/OSs/AppleScript versions, so I may be confused...

After this experience, I understand why you shouldn't allow root access to
many tasks...

And after this experience, I don't understand why other apps in the
Applications folder don't inherit Apple's Apps permissions at installation
time (after all, most of them ask for administrative permissions to
self-install). I wasn't specially interested in saving iTunes from the
massive scorching...
