For years I've followed two rules:
1. Never, never, ever use global variables.
2. Never, never, ever change the value of a property.

I started doing this after first reading about codesigning. I never followed-up by actually trying to codesign something. The relevant document is "CodeSigningGuide.pdf" and I just took a quick read thru it. (At the moment it looks incomprehensible.) I think the secret to doing codesigning is to understand how to use the 'codesign' shell command.
