Title: Re: InDesign Server speed?
Anyone having experience with InDesign Server software?

I am interested in and very curious about the speed of InDesign Server
compared to the speed of the Client version which runs in "Fast"
screen mode. At the moment I run scripts with the client version, with
display performance set to "Fast". This is already twice as fast as
with display performance set to "Optimized" or "High Quality".
Background info: an important task of my (InDesign CS3) script is
placing (and scaling) images on pages (sometimes more than 50 pictures
per page). It takes more than 5 minutes to complete a single page with
50 pictures. I was hoping this task could be done in let's say less
than 1 minute ;).
Also: will InDesign CS5 (client or server) probably execute scripts
faster than CS3 or . . . ?
And is there a difference in writing scripts for the client or the
server version? I heard for example that InDesign Server is unable to
work with libraries? (InDesign libraries, I mean). That would be a pity.

Opinions from experienced users are very welcome.

Bert.

Bert, why don’t you try not to show any window at all, then your scripts must run faster.
