As if I knew what I was talking about. But it does not work!
This does works ...

set diskpath to quoted form of (POSIX path of diskAlias)
do shell script "mdutil -i off " & diskpath
delay 1
do shell script "mdutil -E " & diskpath
delay 1
do shell script "mdutil -i on " & diskpath

Just in case anyone needs to re-index a disk.
