Wasting my time with do shell script "sips ... and long path

Hi,

I just wasted my whole afternoon trying to make a script using do shell script "sips...


to discover, some minutes ago, that the trouble came because of the place in the hierarchy of my front window (the pathname is too long or...)


Sometimes I have crazy ideas (the best) and I tried one: moving the target window into the Macintosh HD root (boot) folder, so I will not have trouble because of the path.

IT WORKED and I changed nothing in my script (I still have tons of windows opens in the Finder, tons of applications running and some hair are on the floor!).

So, now you know that, maybe, a folder move (up, really up) in the hard disk folder hierarchy can squash that f$$$ bug!

BTW: fortunately, I was running Snow Leopard 'cause I have to give my admin password to be able to add (create) a folder in the hard disk boot under Lion.

PS: all I wanted to do is a simple drop box (AppleScript application) that receive a pdf (on enter) and generate a jpg (before leaving); I was a bit tired to issue tons of Terminal lines to do that!
