Hi,

I started a new subject as this addresses the Console.

The Console Help has this:

Filter log messages
In the Console window, you can filter which log messages are displayed. For example, you can display messages only from specified processes or applications. Or, if you use processes and applications that tag their log messages, you can display only those messages tagged with a specific tag.
HideFilter log messages
  1. Open Console, in the Utilities folder in Launchpad.
    Open Console
  2. Click Show Filters at the bottom of the Console window.
  3. To display only messages written by specific processes or applications, click Senders.
    To display only those messages tagged with specific tags, click Tags.
    The most common senders or tags are displayed, with a bar graph showing how common each one is.
  4. To show messages for a specific sender or tag, click the checkbox button beside it.
    To show all log messages, deselect all the checkboxes.
I had hoped that the filters could deal with removing lines but it appears that it only allows showing lines.

Item #2 doesn't exist on my Lion machines.
