Hello Hudson,

So, those "in" and "out" files are per-user ones.
Since you initially were considering them as transient ones, perhaps could you then make use of Standard Additions' "path to temporary items" or System Events' "temporary items folder".
Unless, of course, those files really should be viewed as some persistent user settings.
