Scripting iTunes UI

  • Subject: Scripting iTunes UI

I am trying to develop scripts that will manipulate the iTunes UI. This is part of my list of wishes (for example):

Reveal Movies playlist in main window (OK)
Switch to grid mode (OK)
Put focus on grid (NO LUCK)
Use scripts to press up/down/left/right/enter/esc (OK)

With the above steps, my application can manipulate the iTunes screen, but I can't guarantee that the focus is on the grid and therefore the arrows don't work. I've tried to click/focus UI elements, using click at to click in the grid window. Nothing works.

Any ideas here? I'm starting to think it might be easier to write my own gui that accesses iTunes content!

Thanks, Heath
