Hi Shane,

Yeah, unless you already know Studio and you're doing something quick-and-dirty. ASStudio's greatest weakness is also it's one redeeming factor--the coding is all (sort of) AppleScript. It's comfortable. While there may be excursions into Cocoa, they're concisely contained and little more involved than 'do shell script'.

In my case, there are existing Studio projects to maintain. Sadly, there's no funding to scrap and rebuild those projects. The biggest one is a front end for building InDesign catalogs. It accepts a dragged image library and Excel data document and has a UI for scaling and cropping every image *before* the build is started. It does even more, but the point is that it would be a huge, expensive undertaking to start over.

I follow with interest the ASObjC list and plan to buy your book when I make the plunge into the intricacies of Cocoa. Which will happen as soon as we have a client with an appropriate project and a budget.
