On that list I posted, I haven't read the first one, but I'm going to track it down. I don't think you could go wrong with any of the next three on the list. The others are good, but may be a bit dated.
Most (all?) of these books have on-line sample chapters which give you a pretty good idea as to the quality of the work.
Between the books available in print, the ASLG in PDF and resources like this list and macscripter you're pretty well covered.

You can get a print copy of the AppleScript language guide on amazon, but new it costs an arm and a leg. Be careful buying used, it was updated about three years ago.
You could also print your own copy.
