That's a good, if intemperately put, question. But a better one might be why
did someone not bother trimming to the pertinent point, so there's no need
to scroll "all the way", regardless of where the reply is put.

I don't particularly like top-posting, but I can live with it -- I
understand some people prefer it. But I wonder how much of its use is an
excuse to not bother trimming.
