Thanks for the helpful tips so far. I'll explain a little more clearly what I am trying to do.
First, it does not have to do with screen shots.
It has to do with taking any image already within the clipboard and automatically and easily saving it to a standard location.
For example...
I receive an email in Apple Mail with a photo attachment.
I hold down CONTROL and click on the image to select COPY IMAGE from the menu which comes up. (The image is now in the Clipboard.)
I would like a script to recognize that there is now a new image in the clipboard, and then automatically save the image as a JPEG to a file called Clipboard.jpg in some standard location.
Alternatively, I might have copied the image into the Clipboard from a web page.
Really, the main thing I need to know is there a simple script which can "watch the clipboard" for changes? I can probably right the rest. Similar to a script which watches a folder for new items, I simply need a script to monitor the Clipboard for a new image.
Any further ideas...?
