I've been teaching myself AppleScript, and am having problems with Database Events. I can write a script creating a database, adding a few records, and a few fields. However, at some point as I work I can't create databases nor can I work with those I have created. A couple of times I've gotten the message "Event Handler Error" (but don't often get the message, it just doesn't work). The only way I can Database Events to work again is to shut down the computer and reboot. - Just quitting the Script Editor doesn't do anything. This problem repeatedly comes about at a certain point whether I'm using a script I've already written or with a new script. I can still run scripts that aren't related to Database Events. What is the problem? It's getting frustrating as I think I've got things working, and then it happens again. When I do very simple 'make new database with...' or 'make new record...' I have no problem and can work for a long time as long as I keep it very simple, etc. Once it stops, simple or complex - nothing works. What I've been trying to do is to write a script asking for user input and then using the results to create records and fields within a database. As I say, it works for a little while and then won't work. Incidentally, I'm using Leopard 10.5.8. Any help will be greatly appreciated.
