If you look at Disk Utility, you will find that every disk/volume/partition listed is associated with a unique hardware-disk-drive (a physical device).
There are various commands that return a list of volumes/disks/partitions which are currently mounted. However, there is no command in AppleScript or a 'do shell script ...' command that will list hardware devices and associate a volume with a particular hardware device.
I've Googled this and found nothing. Does anyone know how to get only the volumes on a particular hardware device? Or get a list of hardware devices?
